Design Story

Through the use of home cameras, we manage the our children and pets. However, upon returning home, we no longer have to monitor the house, the camera loses its function.
also these cameras can sometimes feel more like surveillance tools, hindering our relaxation. I aimed to design a home camera that transcends mere functionality, providing a friendly and enjoyable companion-like presence.

외출을 하고 집안에 남아있는 아이나 강아지, 또는 불안감을 이유로 홈 카메라를 구매한다. 하지만 집에 돌아와 있는 순간부터 홈 카메라는 의미가 없어지고 직설적인 카메라 같은 모습은 어쩐지 감시 받는 느낌과 인테리어적으로 어울리지 않는다.

홈 카메라를 사용할 때는 대부분 내가 집 밖에 , 일을 하러 회사 또는 학교를 갈 때 사용한다. 이후 내가 집에 돌아왔을 땐 홈 카메라와 불편한 동거를 하게 된다.

A form motif

In Korea, there's a proverb that says, "Birds listen during the day, and mice at night." It's Korean version of saying "The walls have ears." We thought of the home camera as akin to a bird, conveying the home's situation when we're away.
Our little bird remained by our side with lights even at night. Now the little bird always protects us during the day and night.

낮 말을 듣던 새는 밤에는 머할까?

한국 속담엔 낮 말은 새가 듣고 밤 말은 쥐가 듣는다 라는 말이 있다. 여기서 우리가 일상생활을 할 때 집을 지켜주는 홈 카메라를 새와 같다고 생각했고 우리의 작은 새는 밤에도 조명으로 우리 곁에서 남았다. 이제 작은 새는 낮과 밤 언제나 우리를 지켜준다.
